How do I put HD videos on my nokia 5800?

I just downloaded a trailer from Nokia OVI and they were in HD, 640×360 resolution,
Now I want to duplicate the same quality on my the avi files that I want to convert.

What would you recommend me do?

and do you know any free video converter that allows me to freely edit the resolution and kbps?
