  1. either through the address book or the numeric display – it actually works! ;)

  2. Well, for this pre-release we made the orientation change work properly – so I wanted to show it worked. In the next video I’ll keep it more steady – honest, I promise :)

  3. No idea – check your local dealer. Cheeper than an iPhone at least :)

  4. Qt is an application framework that works across platforms and devices. Basically, you make an application using Qt and C++ and then compile it to the platform you want to deploy to.

Basically Qt makes it easy for you to make cool applications for your Nokia phone.

if you know that the Nokia 5800 is a good phone please reply =]

  6. ive got one some days ago and i love it =D u can watch ytube videos and i think its good size and if u like musik i think u should buy it.

  7. did you guys speed up this video?

firstly changing the screen orientation is pretty fast compared to what i’ve seen on 5800s i’ve played with. moreover the hand motions don’t look natural to me.

  10. Yes, the new firmware is really fast at rotating now. I love it.

  11. I’m not clear on what the S60 thing is. Are these programmable phones?

If I end up getting a new cell phone someday, I want one that I can mess with freely. Most of them are all locked software-wise.

  12. This is interesting, thank you for the video.

I thought Qt wouldn’t be possible on the 5800, but who knows, Nokia probably won’t release it for the 5800 anyways.

This is a terrible mistake for a phone with millions of units sold, to lose support when Qt becomes the standard for application development.

It looks good, but with the way Symbian is now, I don’t think this can save it.

Also thanks for linking to the music, very nice, very soothing.

  13. Are you so retarded? Typing S60 into google would have given you your answer more quickly than typing up that question.

  14. Fyi. You can find a lot of information about Qt for S60 port from Nokia developer pages and I am very sure that when Qt port is ready we can download new firmware to all recent Nokia S60 phones and get Qt in use.

  15. Qt is installable per package like normal apps, probably it will be pre-installed on nokia phones after release.

I can’t wait for my new 5800! Qt for S60 s really great, I’m currently adopting my Qt apps to S60 with the emulator!

  16. Du er norsk du din luring :) fet video ;)

  17. how you do this ?

  18. wow ur 5800 is extremly fast! what do u did to this device to gain that speed? plz someone could tell me? :)

hej du er vist dansk jeg så du kørte på telenor XDXD

  20. Yes, this looks very cool!
But nobody, i know, managed to get the develop environment from Nokia to work. The demos are running on the Nokia 5800, but they are more a commercial than a serious demonstrantion or a working example.

I bought the Nokia 5800, but now i can imagine, why Apple is superior in Applications than Nokia with only a hand full of interesting programs. :-(

Look at Nokia Forum, there are hundreds of people, not able to get the environment running.

  21. Be an optimist,u don’t pay for nokia apps.I mean I have the 5800xm and I get all apps free.I love this phone.

  22. It’s nice for development to be sure, but it seems awfully laggy/low-framerate in the video – a bad thing on a phone where you just want to get stuff done quickly, even if it doesn’t look quite as pretty.

  23. Du skal bare ran mig i roven, pervert-racister.

  24. @coliban,

Nokia 5800 is 1/4th the total price of iphone. There are many applications available for 5800 too, only there are not as many games as iphone, which is not a dealbreaker for most of the people.
Agree, 5800 was not meant to compete against iphone, it was meant to co-exist along with iphone for mass public, who can’t afford such an expensive phone and restrictive platform and also want same/similar functionalities.

  25. where can i download this theme ?
